Informational writing AKA NRW
This piece of writing is in the form of a newspaper article, it is about our lock down training ( not the Covid-19 lock down ) just in case if something raids the place.
The reason why I chose this is because I thought it was an interesting enough topic

SIVA MAI, ATA MAI
This is my Writing I did for Last week on friday since we did a celebration for SLW ( samoan language week )
SIVA MAI, ATA MAI
St Pius X School celebrated Samoan Language week during the time of the pandemic of Covid 19.Tension filled the room, as the students were getting ready to dance their best to finish off the last school day of samoan language week.
As the school were getting ready, teachers and students got nervous due to the fact that they had only had 3 days of practise.
They began the celebration by saying the sign of the cross in samoan and sang the samoan anthem. After that matai ( samoan chief ) Mr Tai or as the samoans call him, Sepulona welcomed Father Felise (a samoan priest) and Paul Coakley (the school principal).
The items started, the first being the mauluulu girls, their hands were waving like the seas of the pacific. After them came the fa’ataupati (slap dance) boys, slapping and jumping then ending off with a hilarious dance. After them were the sasa ( sitting down dance ) boys and girls. They did an excellent performance keeping in time and supporting the younger ones. Lastly was the taualuga in which there were two main people in the dance, Tupua Lagaaia- the manaia ( the solo dancer that finishes off the celebration ) and the aiuli ( the backup dancers that hype up the crowd ). The manaia danced his best with a weirdly shaped knife while the Aiuli’s danced and started shouting to hype up the crowd, even some of the special guests joined in and danced
At the end of the celebration, Father Felise named Paul Coakley “Paulo Lilomaiava” and then started a speech which was hilarious. He complained, in a funny way, that the music was just not loud enough. After Father said a prayer, then the celebration of samoan language week was finished.
